Hennie’s barked all the way to the 10s final and beyond.

The Stonehouse Rugby 10s and Netball Sport Series was a day of fast action and furious fun for all who were there.

A carnival atmosphere reigned at Hoërskool Bergvlam on Saturday, March 22.

The various netball and rugby teams set up ‘camp’ around the courts and fields. Food stalls did a roaring trade and gas braai fires emitted the aroma of grilled boerewors.

The action on the field and courts was intense. Yes, it was about winning, but throughout the day there was strong camaraderie and sporting spirit between the rugby and netball teams.

The Premier League was divided into two groups of four teams each. Each team in a respective group played the others once, with the top two teams on the logs qualifying for the semi-finals. Hennie’s and Nelspruit 1 finished first and second in group A, and UXI and the Bulldogs took the top two places in group B.

The semi was a dogged affair, but Hennie’s bark and bite were stronger than that of the Bulldogs. Hennie’s won 27-17. The UXI scored a 14-10 victory over Nelspruit 1 in the other semi-final.
